PiAxis helps architects and BIM teams extract, manage, verify, and reuse Revit details across projects. The web platform allows you to upload projects, manage extracted details, and queue them for download into Revit through the PiAxis plugin.
1. Details Page
The Details page contains all Revit details extracted from uploaded projects.
There are two types of detail libraries available.
My Details
My Details shows all details uploaded from your projects or projects uploaded by your team.
These details come directly from the Revit files uploaded to PiAxis.
Template Details
Template Details are curated details provided by PiAxis.
These can be used as reference details or reused across projects.
Filtering Details
You can filter the available details using the Filters panel on the left side.
Available filters include:
- Project Name
- Project Number
- Detail Type
- Client Name
- Revit Version
- Climate Zone
Filters help you quickly locate specific details within your library.
2. Projects Page
The Projects page displays all Revit projects uploaded to PiAxis.
Each project card shows information such as:
- Project name
- Project number
- Revit version
- Client details
- Extracted detail statistics
- Processing status
Uploading a Project
To upload a project:
- Click Upload Project
- Select your .rvt (Revit) file
- Enter the required project details
- Submit the upload
PiAxis will process the file and extract details from the project.
Processing time depends on file size.
You can continue using the platform while the upload is processing.
Once processing is complete, extracted details will appear in the Details page.
3. Managing Details
You can select details directly from the Details page.
Selected details are added to the Cart, located at the bottom right of the screen.
The cart allows you to manage selected details.
Mark as Verified
Click Mark as Verified to mark selected details as verified.
This helps teams identify details that have been reviewed and approved for reuse.
Queue for Download
Click Queue for Download to add the selected details to the download queue.
Queued details will be available for download inside the PiAxis Revit Plugin.
Clear Cart
You can remove all selected items using Clear All in the cart.
4. Download and Install the Plugin
To use PiAxis details inside Revit, install the PiAxis Revit Plugin.
Go to the Plugin page on the platform.
Click Download Installer and install the plugin.
The plugin supports:
Revit 2023 – Revit 2026.
5. Accessing the Plugin in Revit
After installation:
- Open Autodesk Revit
- A new PiAxis tab will appear in the Revit ribbon
This tab provides access to PiAxis functionality inside Revit.
6. Using the Plugin
The plugin allows you to download details that were queued from the web platform.
Typical workflow:
- Open the PiAxis plugin inside Revit
- Log in using your PiAxis account
- Open the Download Manager
- Select the details that were queued for download
- Click Download
The selected details will be imported into your current Revit project.

Troubleshooting
Project Upload Taking Too Long
Large Revit files may take longer to process.
You can continue working on the platform while processing completes.
Details Not Appearing in Plugin
Make sure:
- The details were queued for download on the web platform
- You are logged in to the plugin using the same PiAxis account
Plugin Not Appearing in Revit
Ensure:
- The plugin installation completed successfully
- Revit was restarted after installation
